To change the battery pack in the inclinometer reel, remove the 4 star head screws from the center cover of the inclinometer reel and carefully flip it back to expose the battery pack.

Check to make sure there is a jumper wire on the back of the charging port on the cover of the inclinometer reel. If there is not a jumper, take a photograph of the connection and contact RST Support at support@rstinstruments.com or call at 1-604-540-1100.

Care must be taken to avoid damage to the circuit board. Do not remove the wires from the terminal block for this process as if they were mixed up the reel circuit could be damaged! Use a square slot screwdriver to remove the two screws on the battery cover and flip up the cover.

Remove the old battery pack and reinstall the new battery pack.

The battery cover can then be re-attached, and the reel cover reinstalled on the reel. Plug the charger in and charge the batteries fully before use. While the reel is charging, connect to the reel with the Field PC to monitor the battery level.
